Healthy Meal & Snack Ideas

I decided to make a nice list of meal ideas so that we can all print it and stick it on our fridges. Sometimes i get sick of my oatmeal and chicken breast so here are a few ways to spice up your meals! This is also a good list to keep around when you feel an urge to eat something unhealthy. Just choose from this list instead. Also a little sneak peak of recipes to come!!

Breakfast:

Eggs:

-       Scrambled eggs with a side of tomatoes and cucumbers

-       Egg white omelet with spinach, onions and mushrooms

-       Egg white omelet spiced with piri piri, roasted red peppers and garlic

-       Eggie oats (oatmeal with liquid egg whites)

-       Ezekiel bread with avocado spread, sliced tomatoes and egg omelet sandwich

-       Hard boiled eggs with a side of carrots and cucumbers

-       Poached eggs on Ezekiel bread (optional: canned tuna or smoked salmon)

-       Left over chicken omelet

-       Egg omelet cups

Oats: (I use 1/3 cup oats)

-       Oatmeal with fresh berries

-       Oatmeal with cinnamon and apple slices

-       Oatmeal with 1 tbsp peanut butter and 1 tbsp sugar free jam

-       Oatmeal with 1 tbsp peanut butter and 1 tbsp Greek yogurt

-       Oatmeal with 1 tbsp Greek yogurt and fresh fruit

-       99% empty can of peanut butter with oatmeal and cottage cheese

Other:

-       Fresh fruit salad

-       Smoothie with kiwi, berries, water, almond milk, chia seeds, Greek yogurt, peanut butter, squeeze of lemon

-       Ezekiel bread with peanut butter and mashed berries for jam

-       Veggie juice (kale, broccoli, spinach, carrots, celery, cucumber, half lemon, ginger, small apple)

-       Pancakes (check blog for recipe)

-       Waffles (check blog for recipe)

Lunch:

-       Mixed green salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, almonds, chickpeas, protein of choice

-       Greek salad with large slices of cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, Kalamata olives and feta cheese with olive oil and oregano

-       Canned salad of tuna, chickpeas, baby corn and heart of palm

-       Chicken breast with veggies

-       Homemade soup

-       Rice (basmati or purple) (1/3) with protein and veggies

-       Cold/ hot quinoa salad with onions, tomatoes, zucchini, shredded carrots, kale and protein

-       Veggie and protein omelet

-       Spaghetti squash with homemade tomato sauce and protein

-       Lean turkey/chicken on lettuce tacos with homemade guacamole

-       Fruit salad

-       Pancakes

-       Waffles

-       Ezekiel sandwich (peanut butter, egg, tuna, etc)

Dinner:

-       Almond crusted chicken

-       No cheese zucchini lasagna

-       Lean turkey/chicken quinoa patties

-       Portobello mushroom pizza with homemade tomato sauce and protein

-       Shepard’s Portobello mushroom pie (check blog for recipe)

-       Chicken breast

-       Large mixed green salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries, walnuts and a little bit of goat cheese

-       Spaghetti squash with protein and veggies

-       Turkey meat balls (check blog for recipe)

-       Baked salmon or tilapia

Sides:

-       Quinoa

-       Fried rice (in olive oil)

-       Mashed cauliflower

-       Sweet potato fries

-       Mashed sweet, ginger, spinach potatoes

-       Baked sweet potato

-       Steamed, BBQ, sautéed or oven baked veggies

Snacks/Desserts:

-       Large tea with fresh mint

-       Homemade hummus dip with cucumbers and carrots

-       Veggies with balsamic dip

-       Veggies with homemade Greek yogurt dip

-       Mug cake

-       1 square dark chocolate

-       Rice cakes with peanut butter or almond butter

-       Handful of nuts

-       Fruit salad

-       2 ingredient oat cookies (recipe on Instagram)

-       Homemade ice cream (recipe)

-       Apple oat pie (recipe)

-       Healthy muffins (recipe)

-       Healthy brownies (recipe)
